Assessed needs and potentials for the uplifting of Rural Mass in adopted 65 villages (southwest of Thanjavur District) by conducting surveys.
Prepared proposals and submitted to the respective Ministries, Govt. of India for seeking a grant for effective implementation.
To formulate, Prepare and Implement Projects / Schemes / Programs in a coordinated manner with potential Actors like Experts in the respective field, NGOs, Govt., and Public-Private Partnerships to 65 villages adopted.

(PURA is a National
Mission To strengthen the missing link between Rural and Urban areas to foster
balanced development through Physical Connectivity, Knowledge Connectivity,
Electronic Connectivity, and Economic Connectivity. In turn, this would
generate rural employment self-help entrepreneurs, development of wasteland
into cultivable land with innovative water management schemes, which will
support the self-reliance of rural mass contributing to the overall development
of Nation.
The
activity of such nature is already adopted by our institution adopting 56
villages in and around Vallam region under the banner of Periyar PURA.
Villages
are connected to Wi-MAX wireless technology having min 4mbps connectivity with
Periyar PURA as a Nodal Centre. Periyar PURA Complex pioneer by Periyar
Maniammai College of Technology for Women, Vallam, Thanjavur is functioning
near Vallam having a cluster of over 65 villages in Tamilnadu with a population
of 3lakh. This complex has all three Connectivities- Physical, Knowledge,
Electronic, and Economic Connectivity).
